THE LARGEST COUNCIL IN THE ENTIRE INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF TEAMSTERS ENDORSES DE LEÓN FOR U.S. SENATE
LOS ANGELES, CA – In a definitive statement that California State Senate Leader Kevin de León is the U.S. Senate candidate who will defend working people, de León today announced receiving the unanimous endorsement of Southern California’s Teamsters Joint Council 42.
Following their endorsement, members of the Teamsters Union’s Joint Council 42 released the following statements:
Randy Cammack, President of Teamsters’ Joint Council 42 said, “Kevin de León has always been a tireless advocate on behalf of working families and organized labor in California – from helping to modernize and improve our trucking fleets to saving the city of Vernon from losing countless jobs in its meat packing industry. That’s why the Teamsters of Joint Council 42 are proud to endorse Kevin de León for U.S. Senate.”
Teamsters Local 396 Secretary-Treasurer Ron Herrera said, “Senator de León has long been an ally to organized labor throughout the state of California. His film tax credit brought Hollywood jobs back to Southern California, and he was pivotal in brokering the state’s landmark $15 minimum wage law. As our next United States Senator, I believe Kevin will continue to be an outspoken advocate for working families in California.”
Ray Whitmer, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 911 said, “Make no mistake; Kevin de León is the representative working families and labor organizations need in Washington, D.C. From strengthening California’s anti-wage theft laws to finalizing major worker’s comp reforms, he has been our champion here in Southern California, on the floor of our state Senate, and will continue to fight for us as our next U.S. Senator.”
